Biography

Born in 1972 in Karviná, in the north-eastern Czech Republic, I grew up surrounded by photography. My father is a passionate photographer who devoted much of his free time to documenting local events, weddings, school life, and our family. Despite this early exposure, I did not discover photography as my own passion until the age of 23, when I began taking pictures with an inexpensive plastic compact camera.
A few months later, I bought my first SLR, an analogue Canon EOS 5, marking the beginning of my photographic journey.

After initially exploring a wide range of subjects, from landscapes and still lifes to portraiture, I gradually gravitated towards a more intimate and subjective form of documentary photography. Today, my work is rooted in a personal approach to documenting people, relationships,
and the subtleties of everyday life. This perspective underpins my ongoing photographic practice and recent projects.

In 2021, I completed my master's degree at the Institute of Creative Photography at Silesian University in Opava. My work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, and the United States. In 2016, I published my first photobook, Unspoken Games, which was selected among the three finalists in the Lifestyle category of the Czech Press Photo competition.

I live near Prague, Czech Republic. Alongside my personal projects, I undertake commissioned photography, including weddings, events, portraiture, and product photography.
