Biography

I was born in 1972 in north-east corner of the Czech Republic, Karviná. Although my father has been a keen photographer, who spent all his free time photographing local events, weddings, schools and obviously myself and my sister, I ignored photography until I turned 23 and shot my first pictures with a cheap plastic compact camera. A few months later I bought my first SLR (analog Canon EOS 5) and my journey with photography started.

Initially being a shooter of everything from landscapes through still life to portraits, over the time I developed my passion for more intimate subjective document, which is the basis of my latest projects. In 2021 I completed my master's degree studies at the Institute of Creative Photography of Silesian University in Opava. I presented my work at several solo exhibitions and also numerous group exhibitions in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland and the USA. In 2016 I published my first book titled "Unspoken Games". This project was also nominated among top 3 series at Czech Press Photo 2016 competition in the Lifestyle category.

Currently I live nearby Prague and work in the city centre. Apart from my art photography projects, I also shoot weddings, events, studio/field portraits and nude.
